Whatever Happened to Summer?

How was your summer? Although it has been cold and rainy mostly and I would hesitate to call what Mother Nature decided to bestow upon us this year as summer, I had a great time. However, time is one of those ever elusive things that has run away from me. This year was a particularly busy summer, between helping my best girlfriend and oldest friend with her wedding and my still on-going job hunt, this blog has been sidetracked. For this I sincerely apologize.

I do have some goodies coming up on this piece of web real estate. First off I am headed to a meetup of local Montreal food bloggers. I am super excited to meet them. I will have all the coverage right here, pictures of the event (and the food of course) will be up tomorrow.

A couple of recipes I have lined up almost ready for me to hit the publish button:

- Quick Chinese Scallion Pancake
- Butternut Squash and Chickpea Curry

I am trying to get back into the cooking swing (right after I do some groceries and tidy up my neglected kitchen). I’ve done some eating out as well and the restaurant reviews will also be posted in the coming weeks. Now is the time for me to get back into cooking and having control of what goes on my plate. All this eating out has made me gain weight. I am not saying that it is not possible to make healthy choices when eating out. I am saying that I am not one that is very capable of it ;) So if you have any suggestions on what I can cook, I am open to suggestions. Simply reply in the comments, your suggestions are always appreciated.

Lastly, I am most probably going to redesign my blog, although I not come to a final decision regarding this yet. No worries, there will be no interruptions to my blogging now that things have quieted down.

In the meantime, happy Saturday and enjoy your weekend!

    Hi Judy!

I definitely agree with you on the impossibility of eating well when at the restaurant. Who orders the salad when there’s Fettucine Carbonara available? But, if you want to take the challenge, we could always have supper at Elixor (Laval or DDO) where they have awesome salads that actually deserve the title of ‘salade-repas’. And then we’ll have cake for dessert, because who can be good all the time? hehe

also, you’ll have to post the recipe for butternut squash and chickpea curry, I would make that in a heartbeat!
